Stefania Bada's Memorial
Stefania Bada's memorial film used by the Evening Standard to raise money for a 24/7 homeless women's shelter.
I made this film to send to the people who knew Stefania and let them know how much she meant to me and the rest of Forest Hill.
She quietly sat in the underpass every morning, homeless but smiling and offering help to anyone who walked by, never asking for anything in return. We all have our daily struggles and are unknowing. I hugged her on the street once because she looked well and I had hopes for her future.
Two months ago I saw the flowers in the underpass, sleeping on the streets and finding solace in drugs, she had not been able to look after herself and recover from a leg operation. She had two children abroad, she had suffered from domestic abuse and needed much more than a home, she needed social care.
The people huddled every morning asking questions, the loss was felt by everyone.
